I thought I would have to teach my daughter about the world; turns out I have to teach the world about her. They see a girl who doesn't speak,
I see a miracle who doesn't need words.

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a very Happy Easter!!

There are lots of pictures in this post - but since I don't have time for scrap booking anymore, the blog doubles as one!

Dying Easter Eggs...

Alex was SO into dying the eggs this year - she was so incredibly focused and amused that I'm thinking this should be a new activity for her year round.

The Silly Eggs!

The day before Easter Zach informed me that since we leave cookies and milk for Santa that he wanted to MAKE the Easter Bunny a carrot - not a real one, but something he could keep.  So we made a stuffed carrot for the bunny...who in turn left him a nice note about it.

The baskets...

Sissy checking out her basket...

The bunny left lots of eggs laying around...

After all the eggs were found it was off to church and then back to my parents house for a bit.  Alex looked so pretty but would NOT cooperate for any pictures.

Love this picture....

Then it was off to my sister's for dinner.

My sister and brother

Cousins!!

Alex was being a real stinker every time she saw the camera she looked down.  She totally knew what she was doing too....so we took one without her!

But then I snuck this one of her...

It's been a long time since we've had a picture with our parents!

Nags Head

Wow, I have a lot of blogging to catch up on!

For now I'll just start with our recent trip to the Outer Banks.  Our friends the Morris' invited us to Nags Head for Spring Break and we had a great time!

Scott, Leslie and Jeff

We enjoyed a lot of time on the beach, and even though the water was freezing, it didn't stop my little fish from going in.

We were lucky enough to have Alex's respite worker, Ronica, with us.  It is such a blessing to have people who love Alex to sacrifice time from their lives to make ours a little easier.  Ronica was up every morning to take care of Alex and entertain her.  It was awesome having her with us so we could truly relax.  She's wonderful with Alex and we are grateful.

The boys tried out their rock climbing abilities and were quite impressive!

We drove the truck out to Oregon Inlet and enjoyed a day at the beach while the guys tried their hand at  fishing.

And while the girls relaxed!

Zach lost interest pretty quickly and decided to just play in the sand.

I think Zach should be the poster child for Cheez-It's considering it was the main staple in his diet.

When we got back from the beach Ronica was nice enough to watch all the kids so that we could go out for a nice seafood dinner.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was Alex getting to put her feet in the water....while it was freezing, she LOVED it!

It was a great trip with good times, good friends and great memories!
