I thought I would have to teach my daughter about the world; turns out I have to teach the world about her. They see a girl who doesn't speak,
I see a miracle who doesn't need words.

Spring Break

Over Spring Break we got to enjoy some family time.  Aaron and Zach went camping for a night, we visited some sites around town, went to our favorite family dinner place, went to the movies and probably the most fun for everyone was a quick trip to VA Beach.

Alex loves the water.  The beach is her happy place.  She loved watching the waves and people from the balcony of our room.

Without a doubt her most favorite time was spent swimming with her Daddy.  Her two loves, her daddy and the water. Life was good!

This is probably one of my most favorite moments that I've captured between the two of them.

Zach has been a little fish since he was old enough to walk so he always enjoys some good pool time, especially when the water is heated!

Some fun family pics....

We were on the top floor of the hotel so we had some pretty great views!

We took the kids out for dinner and Aaron and Zach had fun playing some video games while we waited for our food...

And the beauty queen enjoyed receiving a crown :)

Zach and I enjoyed some ice cream and a nice walk on the beach that night while Aaron was getting Alex ready for bed.

The next morning we enjoyed a little bit of sand time - the water was way too cold for swimming!

The hotel had a nice sitting area facing the water with rocking chairs - perfect for enjoying the morning and a good cup of coffee!

Oh what I wouldn't give for just two minutes inside her head to know what she's thinking.

I'd even settle for just a minute.

I love when we get to go the beach and see her so happy.  I'm hoping we get to do a few trips over the summer.

Alex also discovered her love of the water hose that week!  She helped her dad water some flowers....(soaking herself and us in the process and thinking it was quite funny!)

Later that afternoon we were in her walker going for a stroll while Aaron was washing the car and she would not walk any further, she wanted the hose back and wanted to help her dad wash the car!

I told her physical therapist I found a new motivation for her to walk. I  told Alex she wasn't allowed to help anymore until she took her steps to the end of the driveway and back up.  Whoever doesn't think Alex can understand us when we talk to her, it was the fastest walk she has taken to date!

We are always so crazy busy and running in different directions all the time so it was nice to take some time and just be together as a family.

Easter!

Well, I'm over a week late but I hope everyone had a happy Easter!

Saturday evening we colored eggs at our friends Barry and Sarah's house.

Jane definitely made coloring eggs fun!

Especially since Zach and Alex just wanted to be boys!

Alex was intrigued for a minute or two :)

The Easter bunny made an appearance and I think the kids did ok!

I will say I really felt like a tiny bit of the magic was gone for Zach this year and it really made me sad that he's growing up and I have no more babies :(

He did humor me and looked for hidden eggs :)

Alex was more interested in her basket!

Nothing like a selfie on the way to church :)

We went to my parents house for dinner.  Kind of bitter sweet as they just put their house on the market so this was probably the last big holiday meal at their house.
