I thought I would have to teach my daughter about the world; turns out I have to teach the world about her. They see a girl who doesn't speak,
I see a miracle who doesn't need words.

River City Buddy Ball

Basketball season is BACK!   Alex had a GREAT time this weekend playing with all of her friends with RIVER CITY BUDDY BALL!!!  Her buddy this go round was Mr. Steve and she enjoyed every minute....SO much so that they asked her to stay for the second game.  Her FABULOUS coach, Mr. Eric has her on his team - Syracuse - and her jersey number is....Number 1!!

She's going to miss next weekend because of her surgery so I loved the fact that she stayed for both games.   There were some periods where she was really quiet - but they did not last long and she was quite verbal about how happy she was to be back at Buddy Ball!!

...I really think she was just a little excited to be back!

Steve ran his butt off to ensure Alex had a good time so the least she could do was hold his hand!

...and smile about it!

He was definitely making sure Alex was having a great time!  We have been SO blessed by Buddy Ball!

I WILL say Alex is QUITE the flirt...in fact I think a comment was made that there was no flattery by the adoring eyes she was making because she was pretty shameless in flirting with all the boys at the game.  Oh, it's a good thing Daddy was at Zach's game miles across town!

Alex has a PHENOMENAL buddy Matthew.  When we walked into the gym Matthew was the first person to walk up to us and give Alex a HUGE hug.  He's not only a great basketball player and fan of hers, but also an amazing commentary.  Matthew commentated on that game like a complete professional...I definitely see a professional announcing job in Matthew's future!

She was definitely one happy girl all morning...thank you River City for a GREAT morning!

Tomorrow morning we will be heading to UVA for the surgery on her legs so lots of prayers are welcomed!  I have had a really hard time leading up to this surgery worrying and stressing about her recovery so thank you in advance for your well wishes and prayers for a successful surgery.
