I thought I would have to teach my daughter about the world; turns out I have to teach the world about her. They see a girl who doesn't speak,
I see a miracle who doesn't need words.

Happy Birthday - Part 2

Zach's day started with his scavenger hunt for his presents.  I wrote out 4 clues and he had to find each of his presents based on his clues.

He read the clues twice and then went on his hunt.  He thought it was so much fun and did a good job finding them!

I thought this picture was so funny - apparently I write very thought provoking cards :)

I told him he could only open one present so he had to choose carefully...of course he opted for the biggest box!

After he opened his present he went upstairs to see Alex who was still in bed.

I love the way she looks at him - she stares at him all the time and loves when he's around.

I caved and let him open the rest of his presents before I had to leave for work :)

Probably the sweetest part of the day was when he was opening his card from Alex.  She was staring at him, smiling and then she put her arm around his, pulled him towards her and kissed him.  It was priceless - and probably the most purposeful thing she has ever done.

Cousins

Can't forget Daddy!

He spent the day at the pool with Ronica and Tabitha and we had arranged to go to dinner with my parents, my best friend Dana and my niece Emily.  My parents came early to give Zach his presents and give Zach and Emily some play time.

Right as we were walking out the door Zach got a phone call from Geoffrey - the giraffe at Toy's R Us...

Zach and I have a "date night" dinner once a month and we usually go to to the same Hibachi place - which is where he picked to go for his birthday dinner.  Zach calls it the "pee pee guy place" because the chef starts a fire in a volcano made out of onion and to put the fire out he has this little guy that when you push his head his pants come down and he "pee pees" out water to put the fire out.  He laughs every time.   The chef decided to give Zach a birthday soaking...

We had a great dinner and Zach and Emily had a lot of fun spending time together.

After dinner they brought out fried ice cream for him and everyone sang happy birthday.

He had a great day.  Tomorrow is his birthday party at the pool, so I'm sure there will be a Happy Birthday - Part 3 post :)

So many great photos! Love your rhymes! Looks like it was a fabulous day. Don't tell Murphy, though. Don't want him thinking we're crummy parents! :-)

Can't wait to celebrate tomorrow!
